 Milbridge Comprehensive Plan Update

The Town of Milbridge is updating its Comprehensive Plan. Milbridge's current Comprehensive

Next Meeting
Comprehensive Plan Update Committee meetings are regularly scheduled for the last Thursday of each month.

In January the meeting of the Milbridge Comprehensive Plan Committee will be on Thursday January 26, 2011 in the Milbridge Library at 6:00.

Materials for the next meeting
We will be doing final revisions to the Transportation, Fiscal Capacity and Land Use chapters and drafting the Current and Proposed Land Use Maps

Comprehensive Plan Committee members are open; and members of the public are encouraged to attend

Plan was written in 1995 and adopted in 1996. Since that time, there have been a number of changes, both in Milbridge and in Maine law as it relates land use and municipal comprehensive plans.

 

The Comprehensive Plan pulls together information on a wide-range of community issues to assess trends and establish town policies over 10- to 15-year period. As the Comprehensive Plan process moves forward, the Committee will post draft chapters, survey questions and other documents relative to the Comprehensive Plan on this page.

 

There are variety of ways for you to be involved in the Comprehensive Plan. We want your input and involvement, please see below to find out more. Click here to find out more about Comprehensive Planning in general.

Ways to be involved
There are lots of ways for you to become involved in the Comprehensive Plan process. Here are a few:


1. Come to a meeting! The Comprehensive Plan Committee meets on the last Thursday of each month at 6:30 in the Fire Department Training Room. Comprehensive Plan meeting are open and members of the public are encouraged to attend. Each month the committee discuss a different topic area. Check back on this website to see when we'll be discussing topics that interest you.

2. Join our mailing list. People on the mailing list receive a meeting reminder one week before each meeting with draft documents and a list of questions related to the topic area. Even if you cannot attend meetings, this is a good way to see what the committee is working on and offer feedback. To sign up for the mailing list, please contact Judy East or 454-0465.

3. Share your comments on issues that concern you. There are a couple of easy way for you to share specific comments on issues that concern you. The easiest way is to sign-up to receive monthly meeting notices. You can also send comments about specific issues to Judy East or 454-0465.

4. Participate in the Community Survey. Keep your eyes open. We'll be sending out a Community Survey sometime in 2011.

5. Contact a committee member.
