ConnectME Broadband Grants
ConnectME grants for broadband planning and infrastructure are open! The deadline for completed applications is
April 15th.
The ConnectME Authority is a component unit of Maine state government whose mission is to facilitate the universal availability of broadband to all Mainers and help them understand the valuable role it can play in enriching their lives and helping their communities and businesses thrive.
The authority provides funds to municipalities, groups of municipalities or nonprofit local or regional community organizations.
Two types of grants are being offered - for broadband planning and for broadband infrastructure. This is the first time the planning grant is being offered, and the 10th round for the infrastructure grants.
- Planning - Organizations noted above that are providing local or regional economic development programs to develop plans to expand the availability of broadband services in unserved and underserved areas.
- Infrastructure - For unserved areas only. All applicants must have an Internet service provider as a partner when applying for a ConnectME grant. ISPs work closely with ConnectME throughout the granting process.
